History:




Ranganathan Street formerly  planned to name it as Rangaswamy Iyengar Street . Rangaswamy Iyengar , civil servent of former Madras Presidency was the first resident of that street in the year 1920. Civil authorities reached Rangaswamy Iyengar for his approval to keep his name as the street name. But Rangaswamy Iyengar requested it to be named as Lord Sri Ranganathar of Srirangam, Tirchy. From then the street name becomes Ranganathan Street. Later this steet becomes a big commercial place for all income grade of  people
